Autonomic System-Related Autoimmune Disorders
(Sympathetic-Mediated Autoimmune Disease Management)
In addition to our trauma work, we have a special, functional medicine center where, for the past 18 years, we have cared for people with autonomic system-related autoimmune diseases in a drugless environment. Some examples of these types of illness are stress-related: fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, lupus, psoriasis, alopecia, Crohn’s disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Addison’s disease, Allergies, sinusitis, and the depression that accompanies these disorders. We have had people fly thousands of miles for care in our facility, because in the patient's local area, these services and many of the highly specialized testing procedures we use, are almost unknown.
We utilize detailed histories and specific tests to find out exactly why and where there is a disruption of the normal functions of the body. This removes guesswork and quantifies the problem, which in turn enables proper diagnosis, the biggest step in the return to full health, energy, and happiness. Once we know what is wrong by measuring the output and function of whatever systems are not working, we use the requisite protocol to restore those systems, thereby returning the patient to health. This approach, works so well and so often that we are proud to offer it to those who, for some reason, have lost part of our greatest gift: the gift of life - or have a limited quality of life.
We harness the body's immune system. We address the underlying cause of the problem, not the symptoms of it. We do not cure disease. We work to restore your body's functions, after which your body "cures" its disease. Disease is simply a symptom of some parts or systems of your body not working as designed. While restoring full function and repairing anything that isn't working correctly, we see miracles every day. After watching my patients get their lives back from all sorts of diseases, I'm not sure there is such a thing as an "incurrable" disease. We concentrate on restoring function and leave the "curing" to a higher power - seems to work most of the time, and no side effects.
In our Chiropractic Center, we do premier work on the largely misunderstood effects of automobile accidents and other trauma. I say largely misunderstood because very few people know that they can sustain permanent injuries at collision speeds of 4 miles per hour and, therefore, discount these accidents. There is also very little general knowledge of the long-term effects of automobile trauma: the blinding headaches, often misdiagnosed as “migraines;” debilitating weakness and tingling in the arms or legs; the potential for loss of taste or smell which creates eating disorders, such as sympathetically induced, cortisol-related, uncontrolled weight gain; the sinusitis and allergies; and the autoimmune disorders that often accompany the trauma of an auto accident or other serious trauma. I have studied the underlying cause for these disorders extensively for the last 18 years, and the discoveries I have made take us well beyond the usual, palliative care for these traumatic injuries.
